The Police Roll of Honour Trust wish to offer our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family friends and colleagues of retired Strathclyde police officer Jim McNulty who died today after a long fight. Jim was a former Trustee and Vice-Chairman of the Trust whom I knew for many years and I know he will be missed by a great many people here and abroad. Jim did not lose his fight he won it he achieved his dreams that are UK-COPS and the Scottish Police Memorial they are his legacy. Anthony Rae

As President of the British Section of International Police Association and a retired Scottish police officer. I was very honoured to have been invited to the memorial service. It was a very moving day and I must pay tribute to the trustees and their partners for their vision in producing a worthy memorial at a very special location. The day was also very moving in that so many families attended to pay their respects and tributes to those who had given up their lives while on duty. To listen to the many stories and happy memories of those who had gathered to pay their respects was humbling and brought home how much of a family the police service is. It is my intention to attend on an annual basis at the memorial with members from my Association to say a silent Thank You to those whos names have found their way on to what can proudly be identified as `OUR` memorial.

I am the wife of the late Patrick Burns. It was an honour to see his name on the Memorial

Having been in attendance at the Dedication Service I must say Thank You to all who made this wonderful memorial possible. In the 17 years since my Dad died Ive often felt we were alone in our loss. To share such a wonderful day with others who have lost loved ones on duty and to see my Dads name inscribed on the Memorial touched me greatly.
Many thanks once again.

What an amazing achievement this has been. All the more impressive that it was started by two constables and a police widow. Im sure their efforts will have touched many lives.
