I know this memorial has been a dream of Jim McNultys for many years and it is great to see it finally taking shape. I first heard him speak of it in 1999 and I saw his great enthusiasm and commitment to it so it is no suprise to me that it is finally being erected in memory of the many brave UK officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I hope one day to visit it and honor my UK brothers and sisters.

I am related to Sergeant Alan Gordon in fact I was named after him. It is always good to see the names of those whom were lost so they cannot be forgotten.

HAVING JOINED LOTHIAN AND BORDERS POLICE 1 YEAR AGO THIS WEEK I WAS TOLD BY MY EX BOSS THAT I WOULD ONLY LAST 3 MONTHS WELL I AM STILL HERE AND STILL SERVING MY COUNTRY THE BEST WAY IKNOW HOW. WITH THE DEDICATION AND SUPPORT OF THIS SITE AND C.O.P.S. KNOW THAT MY DESCISION TO JOIN THE FORCE WAS CORRECT I KNOW THAT EVENIF I LOSE MY OERSONAL FIGHT MY FAMILY WILL ALWAYS BE CARED FOR. Found out about the proposed memorial in the Edinburgh Evening News and it is great news that this is happening. I am a grand son of Constable Robert Munro Leith Police Station Killed on duty in Leith Docks April 1920. As my father was only 7 months old at the time I have little or no information on this. Can any body point me in the right direction ?
